Assigned Committee Members Senior Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) selected by Standards Category Tech Leads and approved by the Director of NMSO to vote on a specific SND. Upon selection, all members are notified by electronic mail and provided a voting URL and PIN code.

Authority of Existing Standard Please enter the authority for which this is an existing standard.
Category Indicates the SND category type (new types can be entered by selecting "Other")
Category Tech Lead Person responsible for all actions taken in the SND Tracking System within the assigned category.
Comments Comments entered by the Standards Category Tech Lead for a specific SND. All comments are recorded as part of the historical record.
Documentation to Upload Allows for the upload of supporting documentation at the time of the SND submission.
Domain The domain(s) to which the SND belongs available through a pre-defined list.
Investigation List research and coordination done to ensure proposed standard does not already exist.
Justification Reason the SND is needed through a pre-defined list.
Keyword Significant keyword related to the SND, used to expedite searches.
Original Submission Date Date the SND was first entered into the system.
Other (Standard) New Standard Type entered by the submitter or Standard Category Tech Lead.
PM Information Information gathered, if appropriate, on the Developmental Activity (Program Manager) that will be principally supported by the standard development. Used for further contact.
POC Information Information gathered on the SND Submitter or Point of Contact and used to further develop the initial SND and for follow-on contact.
Proposed Description Description of the proposed standards requirement.
Public/Controlled Indicates if the SND is public or controlled/unclassified. No classified standards will be stored in the system. (Ask administrator for details on controlled SNDs.)
Specific Programs List of programs directly affected by the Standard.
SND Data Information gathered about the Standard Need Document.
SND Number Unique identification number generated by the system upon initial submission. This number stays with the nomination throughout the approval process.
Specific Programs List of programs directly affected by the Standard if known. (e.g. Acquisition, training and analysis programs)
Standard Indicates the SND standard type (new types can be entered by selecting "Other")
Status The point in the review process where the SND currently resides. As the status is changed, appropriate personnel are notified by electronic mail.
Status Date Date when the SND status last changed.
Status of Proposed Standard Please enter whether this is an existing or new standard.
Submission To submit an SND, select "Submit SND" from the navigation bar and fill in all required information.
Title Brief title for the proposed standard. This title is used in conjunction with the SND Number to uniquely identify the proposed standard. SND number will be assigned automatically by the system.
Voting Closing Date Date voting on the SND ceases, as determined by NMSO.
Voting Results Vote tally as of the current date.
